Friday Favorites
Happy Friday! I have a pretty cool Friday Favorites today, and am very excited to share it. I am VERY pumped up that it is basically the weekend! It has been a busy and fun week, with me on a pretty hard core health kick. I have dipped my toe into the whole keto craze. And by “dipped my toe”, I mean that I have no idea what the word “macro” means and it kind of frightens me. Who knows how long this will last, but I am feeling pretty good! But, of course, this is basically where I can see my life around 5pm this evening after all of that healthy eating! 😉
Onto the Friday Favorites . . .
ONE
Yesterday afternoon was so fun! I am excited to announce that I recorded an episode for the Blossoming Mommy & Baby Podcast with Jennifer Blossom. Thanks to Jennifer for inviting me on the podcast to discuss my story, all things “fun” about infertility, and how to help and understand those going through infertility. Jennifer was so kind, and it was such a great time chatting with her. Blossoming Mommy & Baby records way in advance, so the podcast won’t be available to download for several months. I will make sure to remind you guys to check it out! But, again, thank you to Jennifer. SO MUCH FUN!
TWO
Earlier this summer, I asked for TV show recommendations that Reid and I could enjoy this summer. Several people suggested Ozark. I made it two episodes and Reid watched four, I think. Couldn’t really get into it. Love Jason Bateman, do not love Ozark. I am more of an Arrested Development/Horrible Bosses Jason Bateman fan.
When I asked for these recommendations, we had 17 episodes left of Scandal. The series finale aired in May, and we had just fallen off the bandwagon last fall. After some MAJOR convincing, Reid decided to jump back into Scandal with me. All 17 episodes were watched in a two-week span, and we finished it up Sunday night. Oh my goodness. So many thoughts. This was basically my last two weeks . . .
I should say SPOILERS AHEAD if you plan on watching this amazing show. I was Team Jake most of the series, but then he got bad. Very, very bad. Which made me sad for him. Why didn’t this end with Olivia in Vermont with Fitz? I needed some closure on that. And, Rowen. Reid’s favorite character on the show is Papa Pope. I have a problem . . . does it sound like I know these people? Basically, I now need to find a new binge worthy show where it is totally acceptable to drink nice red wine the entire time. Anyone know where you can get those FABULOUS wine glasses Olivia drinks out of? I need some!
THREE
So, a few months ago, I went WAY out there and discussed my hormonal hair loss. I may have used the term “balding” since that is what it felt like. I have tried SO many different products over the last couple of years, and nothing has ever worked. Well, I think I may have found something worth continuing! The entire Nioxin System 2 Starter Kit for Natural Hair and Progressed Thinning. I already use and LOVE the Nioxin Diamax spray (not included in the kit). I have blogged about this miracle worker before, and it is the one hair product I can’t live without. Besides hair spray. And, volumizing mousse.
I have been using all of the products in this kit for weeks now, and I am actually seeing a difference in my hair. Now, I am also consistently using the amazing HGH Gel from NewULife, and I know that has been helping as well. BUT . . . the Nioxin products are so amazing, my hair feels great, and I have been complemented a few times this week on how full my hair looks. One thing you should know is that if you complement my hair, I will love you forever. If you are dealing with thinning hair, check out the Nioxin products. I am hoping this is the “miracle pill” that I have been after. We shall see. I still have a LONG way to go to get my hair back to this . . .
For my new readers out there, this is my amazing Glamour Shot at fourteen, I believe. I need that hair back. And, possibly the red, sequined fringe jacket.
FOUR
This is THE BEST Friday Favorites EVER because tomorrow my crew heads off to our happy place! The Orange Country area of California!
Crystal Cove and Laguna Beach are truly the Beucler’s happy place. SO, SO EXCITED! I am very thankful that we are in a position where we can get away as a family, concentrate on each other, and just have a blast! The rest of my crew will continue their minor league boogie boarding competitions while I either build an epic sandcastle or sit and read on the beach. Last year the ocean tried to kill me when I attempted to boogie board. It was not a good look. But, on the upside, awesome book review posts coming soon! I have three great books to bring on the trip! So, while I will be posting on my social media accounts, I will be taking a little blogging break while we are on vacation.
You guys have a blessed week, and I will see you when I get back! XO
