Cocktails for the Win
Reid’s birthday is next week. July 3rd to be exact. We typically celebrate the “30 days of Reid” in our house from June 3rd and through his birthday. Well, actually through July 4th. Because fireworks. Like I have mentioned before, we are big birthday people. The “30 days of Reid” title was made up as a joke years ago, but it still stands. Last year this “holiday” was SUPER DEPRESSING! Nothing says “Let’s Celebrate” like hysterical crying and depression, am I right? But, we have managed to heal quite a bit since last summer, and are back to celebrating sweet Reid! We had a little date night over the weekend to keep the party going. Excuse the crazy red eyes. This is the only proof that I have been in something besides pajamas, work out clothes, or a swimsuit for the last several weeks, so I had to document!
Here at the Beucler house, we love to celebrate with fun cocktails. We love to play bartender with our friends (we are horrible influences!), and have special drinks that we always make. I prefer the amazing wine that I mentioned in my recent “Friday Favorites” post, but these fun drinks are a close second. Check out the drinks below, and add to your summer sipping! I have also included a mocktail that I make for my friends that aren’t in the mood to drink! Reid would also like me to say that he was “an integral part of creating this post”. Just his own personal FYI! 😉
And, as always, please drink responsibly! Call an Uber. Enjoy!
REID’S FAMOUS MARGARITA
Reid has been making these for years! After a recent party, a friend re-named this drink the “Reid-a-rita”. We are considering trademarking this for future use. They are that good.
Ingredients:
- Can of frozen Bacardi Margarita Mix
- 1800 Reposado Tequila – fill the empty Bacardi can 3/4 full
- Triple Sec – fill the empy Barcadi can 3/4 full
- Lime and salt
Instructions:
1. In blender, add the can of Barcardi mix, tequila, and triple sec
2. Blend on low speed
3. Fill with ice to just above liquid mark, and then blend again
4. Serve and enjoy. Garnish with salt and lime, if you would like.
TRANSFUSION
This drink was created by Reid’s mom (slight exaggeration, but I am going with it!), and she and Reid’s step dad have been drinking it for years. Reid basically stole the recipe, and we have been playing it off as our own little creation for a few years now. I am not the biggest fan, but most men that come to my house on a regular basis request this cocktail.
Ingredients:
- Tito’s Vodka
- Original Fresca
- Cranberry Juice
- Lime
Instructions: Please note that this is typically made in a big TCU Tervis tumbler cup (insert my own personal eye roll). Adjust ingredients according to your cup size!
1. Fill a cup with ice
2. Add 1/3 cup of vodka
3. Add Fresca, but leave an inch of room at the top of cup
4. Splash of cranberry juice
5. Squeeze lime, and stir.
DEVIL’S RIVER PEACH DREAM
My father-in-law is the Principle and Co-Founder of Devils River Whiskey. Have you heard of it? It is a Bourbon Whiskey and its everywhere in Texas. I think they are launching all other states throughout this year. You should see my pantry, I look like a distributor. So much Devils River! I am not a big bourbon or whiskey fan. Jim Beam tried to kill me college, and I haven’t had it since. BUT . . . according to everyone that tries it, this is supposed to be amazing. Masero has a signature Devils River drink (El Diablo) that is super popular, and Fearing’s has a killer Texas Wagyu Ribeye that has Devils River Bourbon glazed onions. Reid says this is the best thing on their menu. So . . . here is the drink that my father-in-law loves to drink. It is easy. It is simple. It is strong. If you come to my house you can try it for free.
Ingredients & Instructions:
- 1/2 cup Devils River
- 1/2 cup Snapple Peach Tea
- Ice Ball
1. Grab your ice ball from the freezer, and throw it in your cup. Click here to find the ice mold we use.
2. Add Devil’s River, Add Snapple, stir & enjoy!
FAUX MONET
Any “Clueless” fans out there? If you get the title of this drink, I love you even more. This is the mocktail I make for those friends that are feeling like having a fun drink without the alcohol. When making this, you have to put it in the most fun glass you can have. Because what is the fun of having a mocktail if it is in a boring glass!
Ingredients & Instructions:
- A handful of Raspberries
- 1/2 cup Pineapple Juice
- 1/2 cup Club Soda or Topo Chico
- Lime
1. Muddle raspberries and fill the bottom of the glass.
2. Mix the Pineapple Juice and the Club Soda, stir, garnish with lime, and enjoy!
Enjoy all of these fun drinks. And, as always, send me any fun things y’all enjoy as well!
Happy Summer! XO
