Tuesday Transformation: Optavia
*******
I hope that everyone had a great weekend! First question, how is it NOVEMBER? And, also me . . .
This is my FAVORITE time of year! Love the weather, love the football, love the decorations. Love it all!
This weekend was spent celebrating our 16th wedding anniversary, trying to make Halloween as normal as possible, and wrapping it up with a little football. Perfect weekend.
So, yesterday this was going to be a little “Monday Motivation”. But, a crazy busy weekend made re-entry a bit difficult yesterday, so we are going for the “Transformation Tuesday” post now! Somehow, after the longest year on record, we have now found ourselves at November 3rd. This means that we have less than 90 days until 2021! Cue the fireworks people!
Now, I have always been an open book on this blog, and I am going to continue to do that today. Y’all know that I have Celiac Disease, that I love my Fritos and my wine, and that I don’t have the best relationship with food. We all have our things, and this is one of mine.
Now, I have posted a bit about Optavia. You know that I am in love, and I want to share just a bit about it today. I have tried all the things . . . Plexus (I actually still take a few of the supplements and love them!), intermittent fasting, Faster Way to Fat Loss. All of them. But, none have worked for me like this.
Full disclosure: Yes, I am now a certified health coach for Optavia. I have several clients that are currently kicking booty on this plan, and I would love to help you or a loved one as well!
I had known of Optavia for a year or so when I saw a friend post a before/after picture of herself in a bikini on the Fourth of July. Check this out . . .
I mean, y’all! Does she not look like a 20-year-old in that bikini? I immediately texted her from my bathroom and asked her what the heck she was doing. We are of similar age, we have similar body types. But, mama is a no go on the bikini. She told me all about her love for Optavia, her TWENTY pound weight loss within a few months, and her loss of inflammation and increase in overall health. YES PLEASE.
But, of course, I am someone that is crazy with needing to research things that we put into my body. So, I started asking around, asking detailed questions, and really trying to understand the science behind all of this.
Enter my new friend and fellow mom at our sweet school . . .
This sweet woman lost EIGHTY plus pounds two years ago, and has kept it off. At this, I couldn’t walk away.
So, I decided to jump in head first. I went to Vail for three weeks knowing that I was going to do this right when I returned. So, I jumped into a barrel of wine, rolled around with bacon, and inhaled any type of gluten free bread that I could find. I was running and hiking each day, so the weight gain wasn’t insane, but my inflammation was a bear.
In mid-August, we returned home on a Wednesday, and the next day I started Optavia. The first week, I lost 5.4 pounds and 3 inches. As of today, I have lost 16 pounds and 8.5 inches.
Yes, the weight loss is great. Yes, the fitting into my clothes again is great. But, at my age (43), it is the lack of inflammation and the overall FEELING great that is what keeps me coming back for more.
This picture was from January 1st of this year. We had been celebrating my birthday month (December) for 32 days at this point, my brother-in-law’s engagement for about 2 weeks, and just our love of the holidays since October 1st. Those leggings were cutting off my circulation, my stomach was killing me, I felt just horribly OFF, and I needed to make a change. Holiday Shawna is insane, y’all. Give her ALL the wine and apps. This need for a change of pace has been knocking me over the head for awhile.
SO . . . here is the Optavia deal. I started with the 5 & 1 plan. This has you eating high protein and high fiber food every two to three hours in an effort to stabilize your blood sugars and get you into a light fat burn state. The 5 fuelings are supplied by Optavia . . . the chocolate shake is my favorite thing EVER! Oh, and I had a brownie last night that was approved. Yum! And, then the “1” is a lean & green meal that I make myself. Last night, Reid & I had baked cod, veggies and avocado. SO, SO GOOD!
As you can see from my little before and after pictures below, my “fluffiness” has disappeared. So much of it was inflammation.
I know that everyone is different. We all have different body types, different issues. But, Optavia is a plan that works for EVERYONE if you are consistent. It is blood sugar stabilization and calories in/calories out. There is not a magic pill. There is determination and will power, followed by success.
I love this plan. I love helping people do this plan. If you want to make a change, I am here to help. I promise that it is NOT hard! Call me, DM me, text me, yell at me in carpool line. I’m here.
Let’s all finish 2020 out better than it started!
