What’s Up Wednesday?
Happy Wednesday, friends! Since it is the last Wednesday of the month, I am linking up with Mix and Match Mama and Sheaffer Told Me To for the monthly What’s Up Wednesday!
The biggest thing in my world right now?!?!? The highs are in the 70s ALL WEEK LONG here in Dallas. Meaning, it is in the 50s in the morning. YES PLEASE! Fall is here. Woohoo!
WHAT WE’RE EATING THIS WEEK?
We are so random this week with our sports schedule! Monday night, Reid grilled steaks. Tonight is going to be Taco Night at the Beucler House, which basically means Tacos for Reid, Taco Nachos for Harlan, Taco Quesadillas for Jackson, and a Taco Salad for me. Lots of options. Then the rest of the weekend will be random due to our schedule . . . might be pizza, might be a little breakfast for dinner.
Also . . . if you count this as “eating” . . . I just started drinking this Modere liquid collagen on Monday morning. Kathleen Jennings has been chatting about her hesitation to start this stuff, but then happiness at some of the results she has seen after 8 weeks. New hair growth, stronger and longer nails. I spent an hour or so going down the liquid collagen rabbit hole, and researching the science behind it. You drink 1 tablespoon twice a day. Taste is decent, and downing it like medicine. Like medicine that will take years off of my face, give me Rapunzel-like hair, and make my nails super strong. I will give an honest assessment here in a month or so, but excited to try it!
WHAT I’M REMINISCING ABOUT
The TCU game on Saturday!!! (insert heart eye emoji here!) The Beucler crew LOVES college football, and we were just so excited to be back at a game. It was definitely a different experience: no tail-gating, only 12,000 fans, masks while walking around. Different, but still wonderful to feel normal while cheering for our team. TCU lost, but it was a beautiful day. So much fun. Can’t wait to head to another game soon.
The family’s jersey game was strong on Saturday. My brother-in-law is number 19 on the TCU Horned Frogs football team, so clearly we were all representing. And, then sweet Uncle Grant gave Harlan that #1 jersey after a bowl game a year or so ago. So sweet. It is amazing how strong my TCU love grows when my precious brother-in-law is on the team.
WHAT I’M LOVING
Y’all . . . I am so on repeat today. Loving the fall weather, college football, kids in school. Hmmm . . . oh, I am really loving these amazing Chocolate Shakes that I have been having every morning. So filling and so healthy. My current obsession. Shout at me if you want one. SOOOO good.
WHAT WE’VE BEEN UP TO
Getting life back to normal-ish! Football and golf are both back in full swing. This is our 6th week back in school, and I think we are finally back in the rhythm of how it all goes. That six months of summer really had us on the struggle bus just trying to get back into a schedule. Yeah for normal!
WHAT I’M DREADING
Thankfully, I can’t say that I’m dreading anything right now. Just praying that my crew stays healthy and strong during this Covid/Flu season.
Oh, and I am crossing my fingers for Sunday at Noon. That would be the next time the Dallas Cowboys play. My family says that I may take these games too seriously, but I have been a fan since birth, and the Cowboys have been breaking my heart since the late 90s. Going to need a win here, boys.
WHAT I’M WORKING ON
I have a few fun things going on right now! YEAH!
First, I posted yesterday on social media that I am now an Optavia Health Coach. After YEARS of an unhealthy relationship with food and my hormones being whack-a-do, I finally have done something about it. SUPER happy with the results thus far, and can’t wait to help others. I am here if you need me.
AND . . . then I am launching LB Boxes on Friday. Kind of a beauty from ashes type of scenario that has blossomed into something amazing. I can’t wait to share it with you! Make sure to tune back in on Friday!!
WHAT I’M EXCITED ABOUT
Oh gosh! I am excited about a few things. The weather cooling off in Dallas. Football being back! But the main thing I am excited about is that in October, we are going on a little family trip for a long weekend to one of our very favorite places. We weren’t sure that it was going to happen, but it has kind of just come together. We are so excited. The countdown is on.
Oh, and my launch of LB Boxes on Friday! AAAAGGGGGHHHHH!!!!
WHAT I’M WATCHING/READING
Did you see my September Book Review from Monday?!? If not, check it out here. It wasn’t my best month of reading, so y’all have shown up with recommendations! THANK YOU, and keep them coming! Taking a reading break for a few days, and then will dive into a new one soon.
Besides football, I don’t have anything that I am watching regularly at the moment. Reid and I started watching Yellowstone, but then a few episodes in, life just got crazy and sitting down at 9:30pm at night to watch one didn’t sound like fun. We need to get back into that show! Have any of y’all seen it? I know that people are loving it, and I do love me some Kevin Costner.
WHAT I’M LISTENING TO
The Smartless Podcast! I have mentioned this podcast before, but it is just so fun. Will Arnett, Sean Hayes, and Jason Bateman are the hosts, and one of them brings on a friend to interview each week. They started this mid-summer, and they can’t release their episodes fast enough for me. The most recent episode was released on Monday and is with Jennifer Aniston. I am currently listening to that each time I am driving in my car. My trips to Central Market and Target have never been so entertaining. I was literally laughing out loud at a stoplight yesterday, and that was concerning to the people around me. If you are a podcast junkie, check this one out! They are all so entertaining.
WHAT I’M WEARING
At the moment? Jeans and a sweatshirt! Can I get an AMEN?!?! Currently a little chilly here in Dallas, but I will be in t-shirt and shorts come time for carpool. Here in Texas, this is basically how our Fall goes for awhile . . .
WHAT I’M DOING THIS WEEKEND
At the moment, we don’t have anything planned besides golf lessons for Jackson and watching college football. This means that there will be lots of snuggles and relaxing. Maybe we will binge watch a little Yellowstone? The weather is supposed to be amazing, so I know the boys will be asking for smores on repeat. Speaking of, how do you like your smores? Over here at the Beucler House we find ourselves between “Toasted” and “Burnt to the core, now that’s a smore”. I am a burnt marshmallow kind of girl!
WHAT I’M LOOKING FORWARD TO NEXT MONTH
Our family trip! Yeah! It all started out as a surprise trip for Harlan for his 13th birthday. However, where we were supposed to go doesn’t seem to be the safest at the moment, so we changed it all up. Let’s just say we will need winter coats. YEAH!
WHAT ELSE IS NEW
Oh gosh! I think that is it. I love this time of year. Just my favorite. Praying for safety and health for all of you! Have the best Wednesday, and come back to see me on Friday! XO
