Friday Favorites: Birthday Boy!
Happy Friday, friends!
Today is a BIG day in our house. You know how much I love celebrating birthdays, and today is Reid’s big day! He has always been so supportive of this blog, so he obviously deserves a little birthday mention!
We are so pumped to have a long, holiday weekend to spend celebrating Reido, and the celebrations have already begun! We have been in the standard “seven days of Reid” for a few days now. Ha!
A few things about Reid . . .
1. He is obsessed with all things TCU. He played baseball there, and basically bleeds purple. He has also been successful in brainwashing my children. I fought it for awhile, but have clearly lost the battle. And, now my brother-in-law plays football at TCU, so there is no longer a chance for me here to have my college be the winner. As you can see, I have also willingly decided to wear purple as well. After years together, I finally gave in. Go Frogs.
Of course . . . Go Frogs UNLESS they are playing SMU, and then go SMU! We play each year, and SMU ALLLLLLLWWWAAAYYYS loses. Until this past year. It was amazing. I talk a BIG game of trash every year, but this year it actually paid off. There were tears (mostly by my children who were so shocked that Mommy’s team actually won and Daddy was cool with it). But, besides the yearly Iron Skillet game – Go Frogs.
And, can I also say that looking at these pictures makes me sad that we can’t just go and do fun things right now?!?!? Praying we can get back to the business of life soon.
2. He loves to celebrate anyone and everyone. If you are his friend or family member, he loves you dearly. And, he clearly has no problem being on stage with a band, being the last person on the dance floor, or making a fool of himself. We are basically the same person.
3. He loves a good bet. In true Beucler fashion, we are currently in a percentage of weight loss bet. Somehow we talk ourselves into this each summer or fall. I have won the last two, thank you very much. It ends July 21st, and we have some fun things on the line. So, if you see me at the grocery store, tell me to put the Fritos back on the shelf. And, if you see him out at a work lunch, have the waitress drop off some loaded cheese fries. That would help. Thanks!
4. He is extremely supportive and shows so much grace towards our family. Our infertility journey was a rough one, and let’s be honest, men grieve differently. During our hardest losses, even though he threw himself into work to heal, he was always there with a shoulder and an ear. And some wine. Not many guys would be cool with their wife blasting their crazy stories all over the internet, so I am a lucky one.
So, happy birthday to this guy! If you see fireworks over the next few days, we like to say they are for him. Don’t tell him the truth on that one. 😉
Have the best weekend, y’all! Stay safe and healthy! XO
