In Love With Long Cove
Happy Wednesday, friends!
If you follow my Lunchbox Babies Instagram page, you will see that we were partying our way through this past weekend. We hung out at Long Cove at Cedar Creek Lake, and we loved it so much that I have to share!!!
I love to travel. LOVE IT! As a child, I remember that the airport felt magical, and a road trip contained so much excitement. My boys have inherited this love of travel, and get excited just to head out of town for even a quick trip!
We were so excited when Long Cove at Cedar Creek Lake invited us out to try out the Stay & Play Package at their luxury lakefront community. Cedar Creek is a beautiful lake about an hour or so east of Dallas, and Long Cove offers resort-style living at the lake! Think 30A in Florida on a beautiful Texas lake! Amazing!
If you aren’t from Texas, it is HOT in July. REALLY HOT! Like 100 degrees plus kind of HOT. So, anytime you want to invite us to hang out at a lake during July, the Beuclers are there!
Here we are leaving Dallas. Can you tell we are excited?!?!
Check out this precious camp house below! This is where we stayed all weekend. The boys couldn’t get over their built-in bunk beds, Reid was talking about how amazing the layout was for his own development projects, and I was just pumped to be there. You see those Adirondack chairs on the deck? I was there in the evenings with a glass of wine and in the mornings with a cup of coffee. Perfection.
They have five camp houses on Sunset Point that are used for guests enjoying the Stay & Play Package. And, Sunset Point because of the amazing sunset you get to witness.
Yes, this a lakefront community, but it is basically a resort on a lake. The Lake Club has a pool, hot tub, waterside, game room, and grill. We had YUMMY food at the pool Friday night for dinner and Saturday for lunch. You can see that my crew was loving their time at Long Cove. And, please check out my THREE boys on the water slide below. HA!
After dinner at the pool on Friday night, we came back and just lounged near our cabin. We discovered board games in the cabin and played several rounds of Battleship. Let me just say that I didn’t win any of them. Need to practice up on my board game playing . . . these boys are getting too smart!
Bikes are everywhere at Long Cove, and we loved biking around the community.
Check out this amazing view from Sunset Point. I took this picture from the deck of our cabin. So beautiful!
Saturday morning we did a little divide and conquer. Meaning the boys played golf while I biked the 4 mile trail.
This is the beautiful Henderson bridge on Henderson Bay. Just last year Long Cove opened up Henderson Bay as yet another location to build a home. Breathtaking views, and on such a picturesque part of the lake. Actually, Dallas-based builder, Robert Elliott, is building townhomes to the right of this bridge. Talk about an amazing view.
Just on the other side of this bridge started the 4 mile trail. Great exercise, and a fun way to start a Saturday!
And, while I enjoyed the bike trail, the boys hung out at the golf course. There is a 9-hole, par 3 golf course within Long Cove, along with a 2-acre putting green. Jackson was totally in his happy place. My little golfer!
By the time I joined them, I had three different personalities working here. As you can see, one of my boys wasn’t pleased with his score or performance on the golf course! Ha! Oh, and Jackson legitimately beat Reid on two of the last three holes. Jordan Spieth, here he comes!
We are fortunate to have some great friends that have a house at Long Cove, and very kindly, took us on their boat for the afternoon. Harlan is always in his happy place on any body of water.
We just LOVED, LOVED, LOVED our time at Long Cove. This view is just amazing. Also, how is Harlan already almost taller than me? Time is flying. Be still my heart!
And, one last picture from Sunset Pier as we were leaving an awesome weekend!
Long Cove was such fun, and we FELL IN LOVE! We had such an amazing time, and my boys are still trying to figure out when we can find a time to go back.
